Blackstones: Police Operational Handbook May 3, 2008
This has to be one of the best purchases of my entire police career. I was contemplating waiting until the new edition was released (November 2008 I think) considering the rate that legislation and codes of practice are revised, but am very glad I made the purchase now. The second edition has been fully updated and is written in a short and 'to the point' style quickly highlighting the information a patrol officer would need. It is compact and fairly light-weight so again it gets 5 stars. Highly recomended to any current/trainee PC. This would be especially helpful to new PC's going through their initial training due to the short and concise manner in which it is written. It is an ideal revision aid.

I have bought quite a few books to help me in my career as a PC and this is by far the best and most helpful. Excellent guide for interview planning, gives all the points to prove and more. Very easy to understand, highly recommended.

I have been a Special Constable for only 6 months and when I came across this book I bought it straight away. I cannot say how much this has helped me understand the everyday law needed an officer is likely to encounter on the street. It has a very helpful points to prove for every offence and an easily laid out index to get to the bit you need. It has even got me interested in law!!! I recommend this to all in the Police service, PCSO's, PC's, SC and many many more will benefit from this book.

This is an informative and fully comprehensive guide, that has all the very useful atributes of Blackstones and the PNLD. Combined into an easily read and pocket sized book.
Fully indexed including both contents tables of statutes, which makes subjects easy to find.
This book would make an ideal stocking filler for Christmas Day.
