5 out of 5 stars WOW an amazin lcd monitor   August 3, 2008
First time reviewer here.

But my goodness me this screen just blew me away. The picture quality was superb and is really unrivaled by the more expensive screens. The contrast ratio is superb and infact it is really much better than my t.v. downstairs. The screen itself looks stunning. Despite the display image for this screen on amazaon, this screen for me was all black unlike the black/ sliver display picture. There isn't much to say other than that.

Although the vga cable was a bit of a pain to put into the back of the moniotr. Unfortunately the biggest downfall for this screen is the fact that the intergrated speakers are terrible. They do produce decent sound but absolutely no base and nowwhere near good enough to listen to any type of music or movies. Acer must have just included it for the sake of it.
To be honest though your not buying this screen for the quality of the speakers but for the quality of the screen. And i can say quite overwhelmingly that this screen does excel in this department. People out there please don't settle for a 17 inch or 20 inch monitor please buy this screen and don't let the "acer" brand or the price fool you this is a top quality near hd quality screen, with a sleek and sexy glossy exterior.

Another bonus feature of this screen is that it has a vga and dvi (although i don't know what type of dvi it is) input and comes supplied with both cables. One last thing is that this is a 22" screen and it is going to take a bit of space. Once its there though on your table it will just make you smile, it is really very beautiful, sleek and modern.
Ladies and Gentleman this is a fantastic screen that would make the prefect addition to anyones desktop. And hey buy a tv tuner and you could use this perfectly as your own tv and entertainment system.
Hope this rather long review was useful to you all (by the was chek out youtube i think someone below me has posted a video on it with this screen there you can appreciate the quality of the screen).

P.S I just wanted to thank all the reviews that were posted before me you really helped me to purchase an outstanding product. By the way sorry about any terrible spelling mistakes and grammar. :)

4 out of 5 stars Excellent for PS3 - soft on VGA - one dead pixel - flimsy stand   July 30, 2008
Got this monitor for my son principally to use with his PS3 - it is excellent for this - beautiful sharp pictures. Found one dead pixel (bright pink!) near the edge - I guess we can live with that. However, the VGA input from a NVidea 7600 card seems rather soft. Also, how do you tilt the screen? I've tried manually tilting it to the verge of breaking the stand but it will not budge - am I missing something? Since stand is quite flimsy (possibly made by Airfix)I am worried about damaging it.
Given four stars since it works well for PS3 - that's what I got it for, but disappointing on these other matters.

5 out of 5 stars Couldn't ask for more...   June 26, 2008

.. well, i could. But i won't. I bought this to replace my well-loved 19" Hanns-G Widescreen, and i'm not disappointed.. This monitor is fantastic! Delivery was quick, but set-up was even quicker! I have a MacBook Pro and as soon as i plugged in the DVI cable - Bang - there it was. Perfect resolution, everything. Great. No dead pixels (i checked using pixel-check software).. Just a purely brilliant monitor.

Highly recommend it.

4 out of 5 stars First impressions   June 22, 2008

Just took delivery of this product two days ago, and I have been very impressed with it so far. This is my first TFT monitor, and I was attracted to it by the (mainly) positive reviews and entry-level cost.

It arrived very quickly, was very easy to set up, and I have experienced no problems such as dead pixels. Build quality is impressive, with nothing striking me as 'cheap' looking, despite the great price. I have tested the screen using a variety of media (including 'House of Flying Daggers' on DVD, and Warhammer 40k 'Dawn of War') and everything is vastly improved over my old CRT. Colours are more vibrant and contrast is superb, with no blur. I can't comment on how the performance compares to other models and manufacturers, but is it more than adequate for my needs.

If, like I was, you are hesitant to make the switch to TFT screens, I can thoroughly recommend this one. I did not initially want a 22" monitor, but after shopping around I found that this was excellent value to try out both the newer technology as well as treating myself to a few extra inches!

4 out of 5 stars 22" Really ?   May 31, 2008

I have to say that I purchased two of these screens for my Mac pro and they really are excellent for the money. It cost me under 320 for two of these (with 5ms response) instead of 399 for one Apple with 14ms repsonse.

These screens perform well, good colour and DO live up to the other reviews BUT they are not 22", I recon about 19.5" so if you do need 22" leave them.

I personally don't think that you could buy better for less. Who would of thought an ACER would be first choice.

Buy one now and see how good they really are.
